My Description & Views About The Book In this book, Desmond Morris looks at human intimacy which he clearly and simply defines as body contact, literally speaking also he adds. He shows the roots of intimacy, the stages of meeting someone until we both get naked and into sexual intimacy with each other (the 12 steps!).

He also shows the importance of intimacy and how far we humans will go in order to get this need (intimacy) satisfied. Sometimes we construct substitutes for intimacy like taking care of pets and sometimes we use objects and/or ourselves to satisfy this need. Finally, he points out why we are "not in touch" with each other in today's overcrowded society...

I think this is an amazing book that will give you a strong reason why you want to get more body contact with your fellow human beings. And no, it must not be sexual intimacy with everyone, it can be as simple as a hug when you meet a friend or your family. I hug my family members every time I see them since I read this book, because it is a win-win situation!
