Kogan Page (2009) | English | ISBN-13: 978-07494-56641 | 225 Pages | PDF | 5.98 MB

Diversification is a topic that raises its head in tough and turbulent economic times and is seen as an important option for growth. Out of necessity it is now back in the management agenda.

Diversified organizations are everywhere - in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. With diversification comes complication, and if the varied activities of these organizations are not carried out effectively, their very diversity can lead to major inefficiency or even corporate failure.

"Diversification Strategy" establishes a blueprint for successfully managing diversification. The emphasis is on what successful and unsuccessful diversifiers do, as well as on the effective practices of focused firms. Using illuminating case studies, it analyzes the whole process in detail and describes the seven characteristics of successful diversifiers. It offers best-practice guidance for successfully managing diversified organizations and the business units within them.

Graham Kenny has contributed to Diversification Strategy: How to Grow a Business by Diversifying Successfully as an author. Graham Kenny is the Managing Director of Strategic Factors, a company specializing in strategic planning and performance measurement. For the past eighteen years, he has consulted and conducted public seminars on these topics for a multitude of organizations over a wide range of industries. He has also had numerous articles published in management journals throughout the world

Sushi Made Easy Cookbook - Nobuko Tsuda

150 pages | Weatherhill | English | ISBN-10: 9780834801738 | PDF
Visually appealing, flavorful, and nutritious sushi has long been one of the most popular foods of Japan and is now a favorite of epicures around the world. Here, the ingredients and utensils for making sushi are introduced and the principles of sushi-making explained through thirty-six recipes illustrated with drawings and sixteen pages of color photographs. Included are instructions for dressing and filleting twenty-one kinds of fish, serving suggestions, and recipes for soups to complete an authentic sushi meal.

Review
This book takes a well balanced approach that is geared toward the novice. I found the sections on equipment and ingredients to be very good overviews on these topics. Assembly instructions were pretty good, and frankly, the pictures go a long way toward showing you what the end result will / should look like. Other books I looked at contained more history and shopping tips than I wanted. The key to success with sushi is experiment! - Vivarib1, Amazon.com

This is an excellent beginner's book for sushi lovers. Includes beautiful color photos to show the art of presentation and the beauty of the cuisine. It could have included pronuciation tips for some of the words, and the technique described for making nori rolls was awkward (I place strips of filling on rice closer to the center), but otherwise I highly recommend this book. - Amazon.com
